About SAES RIAL Vacuum S.r.l.

SAES RIAL Vacuum S.r.l. was founded in December 2015 and has been a fully owned subsidiary of the SAES Group since 2022. Its mission is to establish a center of technological and manufacturing excellence, specializing in the design, production, and testing of vacuum systems and integrated components for accelerators and industrial applications, with the aim of competing successfully in international markets.

SAES RIAL Vacuum combines SAES Group’s extensive expertise in vacuum technology and materials science with experience in designing vacuum systems and accelerator technology. The company synergistically leverages years of experience in designing, assembling, testing, and delivering vacuum chambers, integrating this with SAES Group’s comprehensive know-how in UHV-XHV technology, materials science, and innovation management.

The SAES RIAL Vacuum facility, which covers an area of 1200 m², is located just a few kilometers from plants that offer significant manufacturing capabilities to support the execution of the most demanding projects in the vacuum systems field.

About SAES Getters S.p.A.

SAES Getters S.p.A (www.saesgetters.com) was established in 1940. It currently employs more than 1000 people with 11 facilities and offices worldwide. Since its establishment SAES Getters has expanded in the field of vacuum technologies and material science, pioneering the development of getter technology and introducing a full range of Non Evaporable Getter (NEG) products in accelerators and industrial equipment.
SAES Getters, on yearly basis, invests about 10% of sales revenues in R&D activities. Its core competences are in material science, metallurgy, getter technology, High and ultra-High Vacuum (UHV), gas purification, shape memory and super elastic alloys and other advanced materials.
SAES Getters is the Industrial provider with the longest experience (15 years) in NEG coating of Insertion devices and vacuum chambers for accelerators. Since 2001 over 500 chambers have been coated by SAES Getters worldwide for any type of facility (synchrotrons, colliders, experimental machines…).

About RIAL VACUUM RESEARCH

RIAL VACUUM RESEARCH was founded in Parma (Italy) in1973 and since then has been one of the most active Italian companies working in the ultra-high vacuum and cryogenic field.
RIAL VACUUM has a large experience in the design and manufacturing and testing of vacuum chambers for accelerators and synchrotron as well as colliders. The company has delivered a variety of UHV chambers and system including vacuum undulator chambers, bunch compressors, cryogenic systems , BPM, photon absorbers etc.
Thanks to its focus to quality, in 2006 the company has received the GOLDEN HADRON AWARD, a prestigious price awarded by CERN in recognition of supplier outstanding quality and performances. RIAL VACUUM has been operating as part of the RODOFIL group (www.rodofil.com) till December 2015.
The RODOFIL group is headquartered in Parma and counts about 50 employees among technicians, engineers and administrative staff. RODOFIL main focus is on high quality precision machining for industrial and research applications. It offers a complete mechanical work service based on state of the art CNC turning, milling and machining equipment. It also offers laser welding and unique expertize in EDM based machining (wire, plunge and micro-drilling). It can therefore support SAES RIAL Vacuum for the precise machining of vacuum chambers required by the accelerator projects.
